My Weekend wears..

This weekend I had to find two outfits to wear as I had a night out with one of my friends planned in Oxford and then I had to throw a Xmas dinner party for all my girlfriends and we'd said we had to dress glam! I knew I really wanted to wear my new ALDO nude heels on the Saturday night and this white topshop dress went with them perfectly, accessorized with my new favourite gold statement necklace, also from topshop. Then for my dinner party I decided to wear this quite festive lipsy number which I bought with a voucher I had won in one of their online competitions. I love the shape and colour of it and the bling on the shoulders gives it that festive look I was going for!

I won a gorgeous dress!

Just thought I would do a blogpost as I am very excited right now! Yesterday, as I was browsing facebook, I came across a competition that gorgeous online boutique, Lavish Alice were running where you could win this stunning dress just by commenting on, sharing or liking the competition post so I thought why not get involved?! Nothing to lose right? Well, I found out I won this morning and I'm so excited because the dress will be perfect for Xmas day. It is worth entering these things and everyone should definitely check out lavishalice.com as this dress is just one among many beautiful items on their site!

cute as a bird..

I've got really into the jeans, jumper, boots, scarf combo this winter which, while I love it and it's simple and easy, is making me feel a bit dull. I used to wear a lot of cute dresses with cardies, tights and boots so I've been looking around for some pretty daytime casual dresses in the hope of inspiring me out of this winter wardrobe samey slump I seem to have found myself in. I found this really cute bird print skater dress on missguided.co.uk and it was exactly the kind of thing I'd been looking for so I've ordered it in the hope that I can start being a bit girlier again!.. Everyone should have a look at missguided! It's got some great stuff and it's all so affordable!

So many beautiful celebrities have been seen in the celeb boutique bandage dresses- basically more affordable replicas of the Herve Leger dresses which we all coo over! I've always dreamt of owning a Herve Leger dress, they are the perfect dress for a womans body. However, they come with a pretty extreme price tag! That's why when I discovered celebboutique.com I was sooo excited! I've got it in my head I have to have one of their dresses to wear for New Years! Here are some of their gorgeous dresses for you to have a perve over..

Vital accessories..

Just thought I'd share a few of my recent purchases with you, most of which have been accessories. Accessories are so key to making an outfit work. For example with the orange dress in the post below- I was determined to get the right accessories to make that outfit. I wore my failsafe Steve Madden tan strappy sandles (which are on their last legs) as I didn't want any shoes taking away from the dress, a snakeskin clutch from FCUK and a gold necklace from topshop. I also purchased a gorgeous pair of patent nude platform heels from ALDO this week and I can't wait to wear them!

Thirsty for some AQUA...

I have to post about AQUA as they are fast becoming my favourite brand for going out dresses. AQUA dresses have a very distinctive style in that they are usually block colours and are ALWAYS very structured which is great if you have a fairly hourglass figure like me as it flatters curves but also great if you don't have curves as the peplum features and structured waists create curves even if they're not there! AQUA dresses can be pretty pricey which is why I always wrote them off as 'out of my price-range.' However, ASOS have been featuring loads of them at discounted sale prices recently and this is how I got my hands on this orange one in the picture below. Here are a few of their dresses to inspire you to love AQUA like I do...
