Zara Love...

I'm absolutely loving Zara for Spring/Summer! They've got some gorgeous pieces from clothing to shoes to accessories and have hit the trends bang on the head! Pastel and candy colours are all over the shop whilst bright maxi skirts and boldly coloured jackets are catching our eye and stopping us in our tracks ready to hand over our, far too frequently used, and close to maxed out credit cards! With a great mix of floaty, flirty and sexy and  a perfect palette of colours, Zara is the place to shop this Summer in my opinion and here are some of my favourite items in store at the moment..

Outfit post- Kensington Roof Gardens

Last Friday night I ventured out to the beautiful roof-top gardens in Kensington for a great night out with my best friend and partner in crime, Kasia. I'm writing for a 'luxury lifestyle' website at the moment  http://cdclifestyle.com/ (if any of you want to check it out) and am their new 'girl about town' writing the 'Scene Check' piece each week. Basically, this involves being added to the guest-list at various top private members clubs in London, having a jolly old time (for free) and then writing about the experience!- not a bad job hey? I'd always wanted to experience the roof gardens as a roof top club with surrounding themed Spanish and English woodland gardens is an unusual concept in the grand scheme of your average nightclub experience. It didn't disappoint- the gorgeous gardens, combined with the beautiful weather we have been experiencing since the end of last week made us feel like we had stepped off the pavements of London and into a Spanish villa resort! The drinks were flowing- courtesy of cdc- and the night was kicked off by live performances by four great artists including a lovely and extremely talented guy, Ben who we were lucky enough to meet in person after the show- (check out his music at  http://www.facebook.com/BenWillisMusic?v=app_178091127385&sk=app_178091127385) Our night carried on in the very plush VIP area of the main club and continued to be a great success, well, from what I can remember! I chose to wear this loosely fitted white Topshop shift dress with a skinny gold vintage belt which I got in the vintage section of Topshop, Oxford Street. I paired the dress with my favourite nude ALDO heels and a large gold statement necklace from Portobello Market (of which there are loads so if you like it then get yourself down to Portobello!)

Facebook for fashionistas...

This week I came across a fabulous new website which I feel like I have to share with you all. It's called styloko.com and I can see it fast becoming my favourite site to spend my time on (yes, even beating twitter!) The idea of the website is that you select your favourite stores/brands from styloko's database and they will inform of you of the current sales occurring at your favourite online stores. You can buy through the website, saving you time and effort trawling through webpages to find sale items. Not only that, but you can download a +styloko button onto your browser and any time you come across an item which you love on an online store you can store it in your styloko scrapbook. That way, come pay day you can revisit it and buy! You can also create photo scrapbooks of looks you love, foods you love and eat, whatever you want.. It's pretty much a fashion centred tumblr/Instagram.. Think social networking for fashion obsessives! I love it and am adding to my scrapbook every day! It's a great way to express your sense of style and share it with the other members. You can also follow other people's scrapbooks and get ideas from them. I have come across so many websites I didn't know existed through following other people's scrapbook uploads which is dangerous for my bank balance but I am loving discovering great new fashion sites. There are also some great blogs and a 'style and the city' feature where there are photos of street style taken all over the world. You have to check it out!

Summer Lust haves

The anticipation for summer is steadily building due to the gorgeous weather we've been experiencing this week, and for a fashion freak like me this means my mind turns to one thing and one thing only; Summer wardrobe shopping. Ok, Let's forget the slight issue of being totally broke and only partially employed, a girl can still look! And I have spotted some gorgeous pieces this week, ideal for those laid back summery looks, including this stunning printed maxi skirt from Topshop, perfect for pairing with a plain cami, a crocheted waistcoat (the River Island one in the post below would be perfect!) and a pair of sandals. I was also struck by these glaringly bright and boldly coloured orange shorts from River Island which I think will look hot paired with a great pair of wedges, a cami and a blazer for a sexy summer evening look. Last but not least, summer is not summer without a fab pair of embellished sandals and these ones from River Island will beautify your feet nicely!

Summer Lovin'

I thought I would write a post on some of the items that are inspiring my summer wardrobe this season. I know we've still got a way to go but a girl can't help but get excited about the prospect of a new wardrobe filled with brightly coloured maxi dresses, wedges, bold print shorts and of course, bikinis! I'm loving the scarf print at the moment and will definitely be incorporating some of this into my summer wardrobe, hopefully with these gorgeous pink silk shorts from River Island. Boho chic is such a great look during the summer too and encapsulated perfectly in this great tassled waistcoat, also from River Island, and perfect for teaming with a cute floral dress or a great pair of denim shorts and a crop top (for those of us who have been perfecting that summer tum). Then, there are those summer evenings, perfect for sleek and stylish playsuits like this stunning white creation or bright and boldly coloured shift dresses like this fab one from Topshop which can be paired with clashing turquoise or orange accessories for a more fashion forward look. So come on summer, hurry up so we can get buying and start wearing!

La Tweez your way to perfect eyebrows

I don't normally write about beauty products but I felt I had to do one on these fab Pro Illuminating tweezers which I came across recently. I discovered them at Christmas when my brothers girlfriend pulled out her pair, which she had recieved in her stocking from her mum, and started plucking away. The tweezers come with a travel case which has a long rectangular shaped x2 magnifying mirror so you can see your whole brow, and by clicking on the Swarovsky crystallized button on the end of the tweezers themselves, you can turn on an LED light which illuminates your brows and allows you to see those hard to reach hairs. As soon as I tried them I just knew I had to have a pair and I've never looked back! I highly recommend this product for any of you eyebrow perfectionists out there.

The tweezers come in white, pink and black and can be purchased in the UK at: http://www.missgroovy.co.uk/latweezeilluminatedtweezer-p-2748.html
or at amazon.co.uk

Outfit Post

This weekend a bunch of my girlfriends an I journeyed to Windsor for a night out. I decided to wear this leather skater skirt which I bought a few months ago, and have featured on this blog before. I teamed it with this cream silk topshop vest with zip details at the side and this multi-coloured statement necklace from Accessorize. I think it's always important to wear a stand-out piece of jewellery when wearing a fairly simple oufit. To top the look off, I wore my favourite (incredibly high) ALDO heels which I absolutely love. Afterall, the higher the heels, the longer your legs appear! Hope you like the look.

Set hearts racing at the races

This year I have decided, for the first time ever, to attend the Ascot races and not because I know anything, or even want to know anything about horse racing, but because I want an opportunity to dress like a lady for once. Every year I see the media coverage and facebook photos of young women looking polished and chic (well, apart from the odd ladies day monstrosity) and it's not very often an occasion arises where you are able to dress like this. Weddings, christenings, balls and work dos, of which I don't attend many, are the only other events where the dress code calls for sophistication. Short hemlines and plunging necklines are our usual night out attire and quite frankly, I'm over it. I want some elegance in my life and having been inspired by a feature in Look magazine: The best dresses for the races, I have decided to begin my quest for the perfect dress for my first experience of the races. Here are three of my favourite looks from Look magazine's races feature to provide some inspiration for those of you who are also attending this year.
