Vital accessories..

Just thought I'd share a few of my recent purchases with you, most of which have been accessories. Accessories are so key to making an outfit work. For example with the orange dress in the post below- I was determined to get the right accessories to make that outfit. I wore my failsafe Steve Madden tan strappy sandles (which are on their last legs) as I didn't want any shoes taking away from the dress, a snakeskin clutch from FCUK and a gold necklace from topshop. I also purchased a gorgeous pair of patent nude platform heels from ALDO this week and I can't wait to wear them!

Thirsty for some AQUA...

I have to post about AQUA as they are fast becoming my favourite brand for going out dresses. AQUA dresses have a very distinctive style in that they are usually block colours and are ALWAYS very structured which is great if you have a fairly hourglass figure like me as it flatters curves but also great if you don't have curves as the peplum features and structured waists create curves even if they're not there! AQUA dresses can be pretty pricey which is why I always wrote them off as 'out of my price-range.' However, ASOS have been featuring loads of them at discounted sale prices recently and this is how I got my hands on this orange one in the picture below. Here are a few of their dresses to inspire you to love AQUA like I do...

Sticking with the theme.....

So, last week I posted about metallics. They are everywhere at the moment and I know it is the Christmas season so everything is expected to glisten but this is just crazy! It's a sequins and glitter overload in the shops at the moment! You can certainly tell it's party season.. So, this weekend I embraced this current trend going with this black and gold sequinned 'baroque' style bodycon dress from Topshop. Not only was it on trend but it was also the perfect outfit for a visit to G-A-Y which is where I was headed! The boys there love a bit of sparkle! And, infact, as I walked in one of them grabbed me and said, 'omg! your dress is fabulous!' and so was the night!

Recent purchases

I have been working just behind Selfridges for the past two weeks at SME London, the events company who organise London Fashion Weekend so the temptation to shop til i drop has never been more intense. However, the budget is tight so I have just made a few new additions to la wardrobe- these burgundy jeans I love. This colours really 'in' at the moment with lots of 'celebs' being pictured choosing these wine, claret, burgunday, whatever you'd like to call them, tones. I also bought this black jumper from topshop as a winter warmer and bloody hell, does it do what it says on the tin! Wished I had worn something underneath it when I got to the office! I also bought this leopard print playsuit from topshop to wear with tights, black ankle boots and a leather jacket. I'd wanted it for a while and just decided to splash out... :)

Taken a shine to it..

Metallics have taken over recently! Everything sparkles and golds, silvers and sequins are dominating the shops. Personally I love it- It's very Xmas season appropriate as it reminds us of the tinsel and ball balls to come! Embrace this trend I say and put some sparkle into your wardrobe!

If the shoe fits....

A new discovery I have made lately is a great website to buy gorgeous shoes from. It's called missguided.co.uk. I have blogged about this website before for its clothes but have realised it also has some absolutely beautiful shoes at bargain prices. From boots to wedges to platform heels for a Saturday night out, this is a great find and the average price of a pair is about £30! :)

Go-to destinations for fab night out dresses at the last minute...

I've had some really good nights out recently which has meant needing lots of new dresses. I don't know about you, but the places I rush to when I'm in a hurry to find a last minute dress for a night out are:

rarefashion.co.uk- cheap and a wide variety (sometimes can be a bit tacky)
risefashion.co.uk-cheap and lots of sparkle, things you wouldn't find on the highstreet but very hit and miss!
ASOS- reasonably priced and a MASSIVE selection to choose from!
missguided.co.uk- big celeb following (OK, Z-list celebs, but still!) They genuinely do have some lovely dresses and shoes! and again, they have a wide variety to choose from.
Lipsy- bit more expensive but they definitely know how to do GLAMOUR
John Zack- not many people know who I'm talking about when I mention him but his dresses can be found in the big London Topshop and in most House of Fraser stores- Again, it's total glamour on a budget.
And of course, not forgetting- Topshop- to the minute style and quick delivery for online buys!
Here are some of the dresses I've worn out recently....

Weekend purchase

Hey guys- sorry haven't posted for a while, things have got so busy with work but that just means I earn more money to spend on clothes! I got paid on Friday so today I thought I'd treat myself to some shopping with my nearest and dearest freind, Kasia. To be honest, I was very controlled- I mostly bought make-up as I was desperate to replace some old make-up which had got to that horrible crumbly stage (you know what I'm talking about) However, I spotted this dress in topshop and loved it. I'm not usually a fan of zebra print but this one is very subtle, Infact, you could argue its just a black and white print and doesn't really resemble a zebra in any way, shape or form- Anyway, I fell in love with it but they only had an 8 which I just managed to squeeze my ever growing body into. However, I thought a 10 would be more comfortable so when I got home I ordered it. Can't wait to recieve it and I'm planning to wear it next Saturday on a night out in Notting Hill with my friend Katie. I also bought this gorgeous aubergine oversized clutch from River Island.
